Pub Quiz 2018 is declared best ever!

A huge thank you to everyone who made our third annual quiz night the biggest and best yet. We had a record-breaking 15 teams of 8, a small army of volunteers, and a brand new quiz mistress Yr 4/2 mum Jane who, safe to say, positively rocked it!

And the food - the food! - how amazing was the aromatic Indian spread laid on at half time? Can you believe that this was made in-house by year 1 mum Alex and a merry but small band of helpers. This organiser ate hers standing up in the kitchens, and can confirm it was blimmin' delish!!

Kudos as always goes to Sarah and Lou and their bar which, three years in, runs like a clockwork-powered money-making booze machine. All that brain power makes for thirsty work!

A huge thank you to Jane, Alex, Sarah, Lou, Gemma and Rhian (sous chefs!) and to Matt who so kindly supplied the amazing lighting that totally transforms our hall. Thanks to everyone else who helped organise, set up, clear down, lug recycling, beg glassware, store curry in their fridges the night before, and generally pull together for another parent-powered success.

Thanks to our always-sporting teachers team - better luck next year, eh? And special thanks to our federated friends at Harris Boys Academy, who came to our rescue, like a knight in shining armour, not only lending us 35 extra folding chairs, but delivering them too.

And a final thank you to everyone who bought a ticket (we sold over 100 in less than 24 hours!!), booked a babysitter and turned up on the night - you are what makes the night a true success. The night raised net funds of just under £2k - an amazing result from such a sociable night!

Congratulations to teams The Great Exhibition and Dulwich Beer Dispensary who jointly took the coveted trophy!

So, until next year, quizzers. In the meantime, you have just less than 12 months to deliberate on exactly how many curry houses there are on the Lane...
